Girl group After School’s Jung-a announced Thursday that she was leaving the group, as her seven-year contract Pledis Entertainment expires soon.

The 33-year-old singer debuted in 2009 and has been the team leader since Kahi left the group in June 2012.

“I’m about to graduate from After School after spending the last seven years in the group. I know I can’t be on stage as an After School member but will always be proud of having been part of it,” Jung-a wrote on her Instagram account on Thursday.

After School uses a “graduation system,” which allows members to join and withdraw on a rolling basis.

In 2009, Yoo So-young quit the group, followed by Bekah in 2011, Kahi in 2012 and Jooyeon in 2014. To replace the members, Uee, Nana and Raina joined After School in 2009 and Lizzy and Kaeun joined in 2010 and 2012, respectively.
