SM Chief says ‘SM led K-pop for 20 years’

SM Entertainment‘s chief said that the record label has led the Korean wave, or hallyu, in the global entertainment market for the last two decades.

During the presentation held in SM Town on Wednesday, the entertainment chief confidently said, “We have expanded the K-pop industry at home and abroad with our unique culture technology.”

At the event, the record label unveiled new projects including a digital music channel “Station”, label and electronic dance music festivals. It also talked about its mobile app service as well as multichannel network content and platform.

SM, which is the nation‘s largest record label, is home to top musicians BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x) and EXO.
