Red Velvet’s Wendy made an unexpected appearance Sunday night on the hit music program “King of Mask Singer.”

Dressed up as Maetel from Galaxy Express 999, an old anime series, Wendy showed off her extraordinary singing abilities. With her counterpart, she sang a duet of “Destiny” with all her heart.

Her sweet voice harmonized beautifully with her partner, aweing the audiences. During the show, BTOB’s Sungjae predicted that she must be Wendy, guessing from her hand gestures.

Unfortunately, she slowly unveiled herself as she lost the competition by a close call of seven votes. She managed to make a perfect ending despite her defeat, singing wonderfully by herself onstage.

After the performance, she said, “Since I’m always performing with my group members, I get extremely nervous when I’m doing a solo.”

“But luckily, I got to sing with this mask on which gave me enough confidence to overcome my stage fright.”
