Singer-actress Hyeri of Girl’s Day was chosen as the host of “2016 Idol Star Athletics” according to her agency, Dream Tea Entertainment.

As Hyeri recently ended the shooting of tvN drama “Reply 1988,” which led her to stardom, she was given the opportunity to work as an emcee. She will star in the event along with Super Junior’s Leeteuk, 2AM’s Jo Kwon, and Jun Hyun-moo.

Hyeri will mainly appear in the opening ceremony, track and field competition, and archery. The “2016 Idol Star Athletics” will take place at Goyang Indoors Sports Hall on Jan. 18-19.

The program is expected to air in early February on MBC to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
