Do Kyung-soo to star in animated dog flick

Singer-actor Do Kyung-soo, better known by his stage name D.O. of EXO, will lend his voice for the new animation “Underdog,” which will premiere in 2017.

“Underdog,” codirected by Oh Sung-yoon of popular animation flick “Leafie, A Hen into the Wild” and Lee Chun-baik, follows the journey of abandoned dogs. Besides Do, actress Park So-dam and actor Park Chul-min star in the animation.

Do plays the lead dog Moongchi, who has been abandoned by his owner and leads the stray dogs on a journey to search for a new habitat where there are no humans. Park So-dam and Park Chul-min lend their voice for stray dogs Bamyi and Jjangah, respectively.

The actors will begin recording the film in January and the animation is slated to open in theaters in the summer of 2017.
