Amid mounting speculations that Korean girl band Kara might break up, Heo Young-ji of the quartet appeared on a Japanese morning show Monday, while the other band members did not show up.

Heo, 21, was the only member who introduced “KARA the FIT” to Japanese fans on the show, aired through Japanese media outlet Asahi TV at 9:55 a.m. The show was reportedly prerecorded in December.

However, their agency DSP Media said it was not a cause of concern.

“She (Young-ji) was the only one invited to the show,” the agency told local media Monday. “Other members were preoccupied with other schedules.”

Young-ji joined Kara in 2014, after she was picked on “Kara Project,” an MBC entertainment show to recruit a new member after two former members, Nicole Jung and Kang Ji-young left the group.

The contracts of three other members, Goo Ha-ra, Han Seung-yeon and Park Gyu-ri will expire on Feb. 2. Local media are reporting Kara, which made its debut in 2007, is virtually “breaking up.”
