Kangta, former member of 1990s K-pop idol group H.O.T., is working with young idol singers, he said in an interview with a local daily Monday.

The “Polaris” singer is making the album as a large-scale project with other artists, which would mark his 20th anniversary of debut. In 1996, Kangta made his debut as a member of H.O.T., the Korean equivalent of N Sync, at the age of 17.

“I feel bad about not making many public appearances as a singer in the last few years. As this year marks the 20th anniversary of my debut, I wanted to release an album to celebrate it,” he said in the interview with Sportsbiz.

“I’m working on it right now, and have so many songs on my list. I’m thinking of collaborating with older and younger musicians with songs carefully selected from the list,” he added.

The album will mark the first since he released the single “Eternity” in 2008.

Regarding the reunion of H.O.T. members this year, he explained that “the members constantly have meetings to discuss performing as a group again.”
