Kara is standing at a crossroads once again. The contracts of three members expires in end of January.

For 10 years, Kara has been through all kinds of adversities including the departure of their lead vocalist, scouting of a new member, and an agency dispute. Now, they are confronting a possible disbandment.

Their fans hope that they continue as a group for at least a couple of years more.

However, the reality is that Kara is already on their way down. They have already lost their competitiveness in Korea due to the crowded market and lack of hit songs. Even for their main target market Japan, their fan size is not enough to hold even an arena concert.

Their agency, DSP media did not make any official comment on the issue. All they can really do is sit back and watch. After all, Kara has been with them for years and did not leave despite the complication and disputes.

If the three really decide to leave the group and chart their own course, what will the remaining member do? Young-ji, the most recently scouted member, will have to either find her way to save Kara’s future on her own, or leave as well.

No one knows what the outcome will be, but one hopes the members follow their heart.
