Boy group Big Bang will not attend the annual year-end music awards held by Korea’s three major broadcasting companies -- SBS, KBS and MBC -- a local media outlet said Wednesday.

Citing an official from YG Entertainment, the report said Big Bang would focus on preparing its full-length album rather than participate the ceremony.

“Though Big Bang is sincerely sorry for not showing up at the event, the quintet chose to focus more on its upcoming album. The members thought it was better to complete the album as quickly as they can for the fans,” the official said.
