K-pop trio JYJ has donated 60 million won ($50,580) to theater companies and various welfare organizations, their agency C-JeS Entertainment said on Monday.

In August, JYJ held a charity auction of photos that were displayed at a exhibition during the special fan event “2015 JYJ Membership Week.” The proceeds of the auction, which totaled 60 million won, went to various organizations in accordance with their wishes.

JYJ donated 5 million won each to six theater troupes to help them create quality productions. The boy group provided winter shoes to Sungaewon Orphanage, while rice and groceries were given to elderly residential facilities and hospitals. Also 10 million won was donated to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital to be used for patients who cannot pay for their surgeries.

“It was a meaningful event for both JYJ and the fans as they not only got to enjoy together, but also to do good (for the society),” said an official from the agency.

Since 2012, JYJ has hosted a special event “JYJ Membership Week” to bring JYJ fans closer to the singers and interact with them. JYJ has continued to donate the proceeds of the event to various charity organizations.

This year in August, JYJ hosted a photo exhibition at Seoul Art Gallery, featuring rare photos of JYJ members over the past six years.
