SM Entertainment revealed Thursday a handwritten letter from TVXQ member Changmin, who enlisted Nov. 19 as a conscripted policeman. He extended gratitude toward his fans and beloved friends and family members in the letter.

Below is a transcript of Changmin's letter.

Salute! This is Changmin. How are you? I’m doing well here. I’ve become good friends with my fellow trainees and am eating madly as always. Please excuse my words, for it might sound a little stiff. I’m trying to be like a real army guy.

First of all, I would like to extend gratitude toward my fans, who wished me good luck for the year-and-nine-month-long service term.

Umm ... I’m not trying to resent those who were not able to come visit me at the training camp on the day of my enlistment. First, my beloved family, all the staff at my company!

Umm ... Okay. Here comes something important. I’m neither asking you, my fans, to remember the people to be listed below, nor saying that they are good people. Never. It’s just a chit-chat.

Lee Teuk, who shyly gave me a handwritten letter, Kang-in who would tease me when I was nervous, my love naughty Kyuhyeon, my love Choi Min-ho who cried even when my family didn’t cry, <3 My brother Xiumin <3, Baekhyun, on whom I have great expectations, Chen who just came to visit me by surprise, Jong-suk, who cried as well and made me Ace from “One Piece,” cute little Chanyeol, who called me as soon as he got back from China.

I’m not saying I love these people more than others ... no, never! I mean ... they made unforgettable memories for me. Also, I always get energy from reading your letters and messages. My lovely Cassiopeia -- TVXQ’s fan club, I would call you “Cavely” in short. Bye <3

P.S. I feel proud of Red Velvet. They’re really popular here. I’m in a different platoon in Siwon, but I guess we’ll become besties.
