Singer Park Bom, who has been away from the limelight for a while, made a surprise appearance at the 2015 Melon Asian Music Awards at Asia World-Expo in Hong Kong on Wednesday to perform with her girl group 2NE1.

CL heated up the stage by showcasing her recent track “Hello Bitches” for the first time, followed by the appearance of fellow group members Minzy, Sandara Park and Park Bom. Park’s appearance was a surprise, as many people did not expect her to attend.

2NE1 staged its hits “Fire” and “I am the Best,” more than a year since the group last performed with all four members.

When Park went on hiatus after being caught by customs at the Incheon International Airport in 2012 for trying to smuggle drugs into Korea, the quartet did not perform on stage as a full group.

Although speculations have risen over 2NE1’s return, the group’s agency YG Entertainment has not yet confirmed the group’s comeback.

An official from the event was quoted as saying, “As far as I know, nothing has been exactly determined regarding the group’s return. 2NE1’s performance at MAMA was a special event for fans.”

A slew of celebrities took part in 2015 Melon Asian Music Awards including Big Bang, Psy, iKON, GOT7, BTS, Monsta X, Park Bo-young, Park Shin-hye, Han Hyo-joo, Kim So-hyun, Lee Jung-jae and Yeo Jin-goo.
