“Real Men” is a show featuring celebrities experiencing life in the military, as military conscription is mandatory for all Korean men.

Following the latest episode, the show came under fire from viewers, who said it was inappropriate for a program meant to embody the military discipline of the Korean Army to use the Japanese military song.

The song “Warship March,” the official march of the Imperial Japanese Navy, was used when Korea was under Japanese rule in the early 1900s.

The production crew apologized, saying: “We would like to offer our sincere apologies to the Army. We will take extra precautions not to make such a mistake.”

“Real Men” airs every Sunday at 4:50 p.m.
