The members of EXO made their grand V app debut on Friday evening, creating a frenzy among their fans, who have long waited for the boys to pop up on the app.

The live show was a short one, as the app even crashed for a bit amid such heavy traffic. But it sure was a packed one from EXO’s practice room, where the members caught up with fans, gave updates about their upcoming special album and had a surprise birthday celebration for Chanyeol, whose birthday was that day.

When the members brought birthday cake into the room during the broadcast, Chanyeol jovially said, “It was predictable.” The newly 23-year-old blew out the candles on the cake that said, “Happy virus Chanyeol, happy birthday! From SM Entertainment staff.” In Korean, it is common to compliment someone as being "infected" with the "happy virus" for their constant spread of positive energy. The birthday boy prayed, made a wish and thanked the members and the fans for celebrating with him.

The members talked about the special album “Sing for You,” which will be released on Dec. 10. EXO will do a live show on V on the day.

“We have been wanting to do the V app,” said Suho. “Because it’s our first time today, I feel a little out of it, more than feeling awkward.

“Now that we have started V, we will get closer to you through the app,” he promised their fans. “We want to try ‘meokbang’ (eating broadcast) and the now-popular ‘cookbang’ (cooking broadcast), where we cook and eat together, in upcoming broadcasts.”

The members said they had to go back to practicing for the upcoming album and bid farewell to fans.

“Gangnam Style” star Psy had his fourth live show “Psy Little Television” at 11 p.m., where he introduced another new song that will be included in the upcoming seventh album “Chiljip Psy-da” -- meaning Psy’s seventh album, and a nod to the Korean soda beverage Chilsung Cider.

Psy revealed his upcoming song “Dance Jockey,” which he described as the album track with the most “heung” -- which roughly translates as excitement and an intrinsic sense of joy.

He danced and sang part of “Dance Jockey” during the show and became a real disc jockey, turning off all the lights except for the laser effects.

“‘Heung’ is very distinct to Koreans,” he explained. “There is no other word that fully describes what heung really means.”

“I hope I gave you some heung today and your life,” he said and ended the show because he wanted everyone to go out and enjoy the night.

A string of other stars greeted their fans on the V app to spice up the evening.
