K-pop stars express shock, remorse over deadly Paris attacks

Thoughts and prayers are in Paris over news of a series of gun and bomb attacks that left at least 140 people killed.

Korean celebrities expressed their heartbreak over the tragedy on their social media pages.

“Terrorist attacks on innocent civilians cannot and should not be tolerated. My thoughts and prayers go to the victims and the bereaved families,” TV personality Hong Suk-cheon wrote on his Instagram.

“(This incident shows how hatred is a dangerous factor in our lives,” he added.

YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun-suk echoed similar thoughts on his Instagram by writing “PRAY FOR FRANCE,” with a photo of the French flag.

Other stars, including Super Junior‘s Choi Si-won and Yesung, alike voiced similar concerns for Parisians by attaching photos of Eiffel tower and French flag on their Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag “#PrayforParis.”

Multiple attacks targeting Parisians enjoying Friday night occurred around 10 p.m., leaving at least 140 people dead.
