The producer Shin Won-ho talked about the theme of upcoming tvN drama “Reply 1988” during a press conference held in Yeoido Bibigo on Thursday.

“Reply 1988,” the third sequel in the series is once again trying to recapture the memory of the era, reviving the scene of a family living in an ally of Ssangmun-dong neighborhood.

As it was with “Reply 1994” and “Reply 1997,” viewers will wonder what event is going to happen throughout the episodes.

The producer explained that he wanted to portray something very old and yet very sentimental and heart-warming to everyone. He believed the year 1988 was a perfect fit.

“As I studied what happened during that time period, I found out there were many things significant enough to be shed new light on,” said Shin.

The drama starring actors Sung Dong-il, Lee Ill-hwa, Hyeri, Park Bo-gum, Kim Sung-kyunand Ra Mi-ran is set to premiere on Friday at 7:50 p.m. on tvN.
