Thriller movies ‘Fatal Intuition,’ ‘The Phone’ biggest draws
Local thrillers “Fatal Intuition” and “The Phone” have taken the top spots at the domestic box office, outdoing several hit Hollywood films.
According to data from the Korean Film Council on Sunday, actor Joo Won’s “Fatal Intuition” stayed at the top of the box office for four straight days, drawing a total of 450,000 viewers during the period.
Prior to the release of “Fatal Intuition,” veteran actor Son Hyun-joo’s “The Phone,” which hit theaters on Oct. 22, was ranked in first, so far drawing 1.2 million moviegoers.
At the local box office on Saturday, the two thrillers were followed by Hollywood films “The Martian,” “The Intern” and “The Walk.”
“Fatal Intuition,” portrays a man trying to find the person who killed his younger brother, while “The Phone” tells the story a man who mysteriously receives a call from his dead wife and tries to turn back time to save her.
