Actors Lee Dong-wook and Jung Ryeo-won’s new rom-com “Bubble Gum” took off on Monday to an exceptional start.

In the first episode that aired both on tvN and Naver’ mobile streaming V app, Lee and Jung are shown as grown-up childhood best friends and flaunted rosy chemistry that lived up to their stage titles, “Rom-com King and Queen.”

Lee’s drama identity is that of a Chinese medicine practitioner Park Lee-hwan, who cares for his friend and radio producer Kim Haeng-a.

He peppers her with caring concerns from “Did you take your medication?” to “How are you with your boyfriend?”

However, Lee-hwan’s mother does not approve of their close relationship and cautions Haeng-a to keep a distance, as her son will soon find an eligible bride through matchmaking.

Written by a real-life radio scriptwriter Lee Mi-na of MBC’s “Music City,” Haeng-a will take the audience through a slow-cooking analog love of radio times.

“Bubble Gum” airs every Monday and Tuesday night at 11 p.m.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit www.vlive.tv.
