The number of celebrity couples with big age gaps has recently been on the rise in Korea’s entertainment scene.

Last week, singer IU and indie band member Jang Ki-ha made headlines, as the couple admitted they had been dating for two years, despite an 11-year age gap.

Earlier Friday, girl group Rainbow member Hyunyoung, 24, also confirmed her romantic relationship with singer Alex, who is 12 years older than her. The two have been dating for a month,

Actor Lee Dong-gun and T-ara member Jiyeon were the talk of the town in July, as they made their love public. The two got close to each other after filming the Korean-Chinese romance film “Xie Hou (Encounter).” Lee is 13 years older than the singer.

The Choiza-Sulli couple, with a 14-year age gap, also created a huge sensation. Sulli also withdrew from her group f(x) soon after the couple admitted that they had been romantically involved.
