Korean comedian Kim Young-chul will host the upcoming episode of tvN’s variety show “SNL Korea” on Oct. 24, according to insiders from the broadcasting industry.

Kim recently raised his profile after a long interval, by creating the buzzword “superpower” on MBC’s entertainment program “Infinite Challenge” early this year. In the episode of “Big Party,” he made others laugh as he rooted for a basketball player by saying “superpower” with his unique voice and a funny look on his face.

The 42-year-old is best known for his vocal mimicry in a ludicrous way, of an array of celebrities including, Ha Chun-hwa, Kim Hee-ae and Lee Yeong-ja.

“Kim Yeong-chul was very zealous in proposing diverse ideas for the show. I expect it to be a funny and satisfactory broadcast,” said an anonymous insider.

The show is the Korean version of U.S. comedy show “Saturday Night Live” which has been aired for 41 years.
