Shoemaker Kumkang said it sold 1,316 female shoes in September, a threefold increase from the previous month. Its male shoes in wine color also saw a 27 percent rise during the same period.

“Marsala is becoming a strong color this fall, showing up in coats and shoes,” the company’s official said.

Underwear brand Vivien also said its items in wine and marsala shades ranked first among the new fall collection including yellow, brown and light blue colors.

It is also gaining traction in the beauty scene. Cosmetics brand Missha said its marsala shade of lipstick topped the sales list among the 15 products newly launched.
