F.T. Island’s Minhwan aired his eighth segment, while still in Japan. “Eighth broadcast means it had been eight weeks since the first ‘Real Minarid’ show. Time really flies by,” he said. Minhwan showed off his doodling skills to fans. He later invited other member Jaejin and asked him to draw while blindfolded. Taeyeon’s broadcast accumulated over 900 thousand hearts even before its take off. Fans flooded the prebroadcast black screen with comments, most of them thanking Taeyeon for singing in general. When the broadcast began roughly around 11 p.m., Taeyeon heartily hailed the fans and said, “As expected, I feel awkward doing this by myself without the other members of Girls’ Generation.”

Now debuting as a soloist, the young chanteuse sat down to reveal some of her upcoming songs through V app. Taeyeon first flipped through the photobook of her upcoming album which was shot in New Zealand. “I regret I couldn’t put the scents of the fields here,” she said.

“You’ll be the very first ones to hear these songs,” Taeyeon said as she finally turned on the third track titled “Gemini.” Over 100 thousand fans were logged in listening to the R&B song while the number of hearts surpassed 2.6 million. Second track “U R” played next, pushing the number of hearts past 3.1 million. Other teaser songs included “Stress,” “Farewell” and last but not least the title song “I.”

Rapper Verbal Jint was the featuring artist for the title track. Taeyeon said that she wanted to break her predominantly ballad-centered image and that she believes she succeeded with the song.

“I cannot wait for you to listen to the full songs. They all get better as they progress into climax. Why isn’t midnight coming already?”

Taeyeon’s album “I” released at midnight on online music charts.

As there was still time for midnight, Taeyeon connected with other Girls’ Generation member Tiffany on the phone. “Tiffany cried listening to the final version of my recording when I let the members hear it,” Taeyeon said with a touched laugh. “I felt my faucet open,” Tiffany said.

After Tiffany, SM Entertainment’s up-and-coming female idol group Red Velvet took the baton in calling Taeyeon.

By the time the broadcast wrapped up, over 200 thousand viewers watched the video, more than 7.3 million hearts were given, and Taeyeon’s V app broadcast ranked first in Korean search engine Naver’s most-searched list.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit www.vlive.tv/
