Korean rapper Cheetah surprised the panel and audience with her outstanding singing skills and unusual appearance in the latest episode of MBC’s variety show “King of Mast Singer” on Sunday.

Masked as “Naratmalssami” which is a phrase part of Hunminjeongeum, a document describing the Korean language created in 1443, Cheetah competed with “Stop What You’re Doing” by singing Jaurim’s “Magic Carpet Ride” in the first round. Unfortunately, she lost the battle and had to take off her mask, surprising everyone with her feminine charm.

The 26-year-old has raised her profile by showing up on the first season of Mnet’s female rap competition show “Unpretty Rapstar” early this year. With short hair and dark makeup, she has been perceived somewhat far from a feminine image.

“Although my initial dream was to be a singer not a rapper, I had to give up my dream as I got involved in a car accident at the age of 17. However, at that tragic moment, ‘rap’ was a new hope for me,” said Cheetah.

“I fulfilled my dream by taking part in this show. I wanted people to realize that not only can I rap but also can sing.”

The next 14th king will be decided on the upcoming episode which is set to be aired on Sunday at 4:50 p.m.
