(Naver V) |
“Yong-pal” star Joo Won went live on V app from a news conference in Seoul for his upcoming film “It’s Him” Friday morning.
The three lead actors -- Joo Won, Yoo Hae-jin and Lee Yoo-young -- and the film director Yoon Joon-hyung attended the press event, candidly talking about the characters and the plot of the thriller.
The actor, who appeared in recent hit “Yong-pal,” is set to play Jang Woo in the film, who is after a young man who tries to chase the murderer of his beloved sister.
Joo Won said he gained oodles of weight to fit into his character.
“I told the director that I would like to have an image transformation,” said the actor. He went through shooting without makeup and has put on as much as 8 kilograms to look like an “ordinary man.”
The stars also had a special ritual “Go-sa,” referring to a typical ritual for safety and goodwill when they start filming a new movie or a business. The cast and the staff made wishes for the film’s success by bowing to the gods and feeding a pig’s head filled with currency notes.
The film starring Joo Won, Yoo Hae-jin and Lee Yoo-young is set to open on Oct. 28 in local theaters.
