Actress Moon Geun-young had her hair cut short for her role in the upcoming SBS TV drama “The Village -- The Secret of the Small Sea.”

“I was so thrilled to be in the drama and so I never hesitated to cut my hair for it,” Moon said.

“As soon as I read the script, I thought I needed to cut my hair in order to fully take on the character.”

The character that Moon plays is Han So-yoon, an English teacher at a middle school in a small town who discovers a dead body on her first day.

The TV drama is set to air on Oct. 7 as a follow-up to “Yong-pal.”
