A host of songs from the music festival of “Infinite Challenge” are estimated to have generated 2 billion won ($1.7 million) in revenue thanks to their strong performance on local online music stores.

Since the Aug. 22 release, the songs have ranked high on music charts. In particular, “Leon,” a collaboration between K-pop idol IU and comedian Park Myeong-su, has stayed atop online charts for three straight weeks.

The weekly program organizers plan to donate the money after taking out commissions and copyright fees.

Bugs Music, an online music store that partnered with MBC to promote the songs, said the festival this year was a success as the number of its registered users doubled and TV viewership also climbed.
