South Korean TV star Kim Hee-seon will make her Chinese small-screen debut with "Ice Fantasy," her agency said Tuesday.

"Kim will appear in the Chinese TV series 'Ice Fantasy' as the queen, Yeonhi," Hinge Entertainment said. "Yeonhi is a beautiful woman with a mysterious family background who plays a significant role in the plot of the drama."

The 38-year-old actress, who is popular both at home and in China, has appeared in Chinese action films such as "The Myth"
(2004) and "The Warring States" (2011). But she has never been in a Chinese TV series.

The upcoming drama is based on Chinese star writer Guo Jingming's 2003 best-selling novel "Huan Cheng." The novel follows the emperor of the land of snow and ice who takes on a journey to find eternal freedom after losing his beloved brother and women. (Yonhap)
