SJ’s Choi Siwon, TVXQ’s Changmin to enlist on Nov. 19

Two iconic hallyu stars -- Super Junior’s Choi Siwon and TVXQ’s Changmin -- are set to enlist on Nov. 19 as conscripted policemen, substituting their 21-month mandatory military duties, according to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Wednesday.

Choi Siwon is scheduled to enlist after the final episode of the forthcoming MBC drama “She Was Pretty” with actress Hwang Jung-eum, which is a romantic comedy featuring two friends who meet again and fall for each other after each going through a huge transition in their lives.

Changmin is set to take some time off after his ongoing series “The Scholar Who Walks the Night.” Yunho of the duo TVXQ, enlisted on July 21.

The two stars are tentatively scheduled to be discharged from the service on Aug. 18, 2017.

All able-bodied men aged between 18 and 35 have to serve in the military for about two years in a country that is still technically at war with North Korea.
