Actress Lee Young-ae has donated 50 million won to the military in a show of her support for two Korean soldiers who got seriously injured as a result of North Korean mine attacks in the demilitarized zone.

Citing one of Lee’s close friend, local media reported that Lee made the donation in honor of the two staff sergeants, surnamed Kim and Hah, who are recovering in hospitals after they lost limbs in the mine explosion on Aug. 4.

Lee is currently filming for a TV drama, “Saimdang, the Herstory,” in which she doubles as a Korean art history professor from the present era and another as Shin Saimdang, a Korean artist during the Joseon period.
