Korea’s hottest actors to appear in new dramas

Array of hot actors including Jang Hyuk, So Ji-sub, Song Joong-ki, Song Seung-heon and Park Hae-jin are to take to the small screen from later this year to the first half of 2016.

Jang Hyuk is returning for KBS’ new historical drama, “The God of Trade - Gaekju 2015 (working title).” Jang has earned the title, “historical drama king,” as he starred in “The Slave Hunters” and “Deep Rooted Tree,” which were successful. “Gaekju” is based on a historic fiction of the same name and is the success story of a merchant becoming a business magnate. The drama will air from September on KBS2.

KBS’ new drama, “Oh My God” will feature actor So Ji-sub in the lead role. It is a romantic comedy between a young couple who reunites as grownups. Shin Min-a plays So’s partner who is expected to create a good chemistry. As So earned the title of being “romantic comedy king,” well portrayed in the drama, “Master’s Sun,” he will once again entertain romantic comedy fans.

Song Joong-ki, just out of the military, May is shooting for the KBS new drama, “Descendants of the Sun,” where he pairs up with actress Song Hye-kyo. Song plays the role of a team manager for sending troops with the background of an elite task force agent.

Song Seung-heon will also appear on SBS drama, “Saimdang, the Herstory,” in which Song pairs up with actress Lee Young-ae. Song will play the role of Lee Gyeom, who displays unconditional love for his childhood sweetheart, Saimdang.

Last but not least, Park Hae-jin will appear on tvN drama, “Cheese in the Trap,” as Yoo Jung who is a good looking, seemingly perfect university student yet with devious side behind the surface. As Park was cast as the most wanted actor for the role, he is said to try his best to play his part.
