The production crew of tvN drama, “Reply 1988,” shared photos from the first script reading session on Monday.

All cast member including Sung Dong-il, Lee Il-hwa, Ra Mi-ran, Hyeri and many more participated in the event.

“Reply 1988” is a sequel to “Reply 1997” and “Reply 1994” and is intended to capture the life of families living in the same alley in Dobong-gu, Seoul, sharing love and friendship in 1988.

The producer said, “I wanted to portray the life of a ‘family’ in particular and the year 1988 is the perfect time period,” and added, “We are going to make the era come alive by using nostalgic items and delivering scenes full of historical events like the 1988 Seoul Olympics.”

The shooting of the drama began on July 31 but the production crew is maintaining strict secrecy to avoid spoiler alerts. “Reply 1988” is set to air later this year.
