Actress Kim Go-eun is set to feature in upcoming tvN soap “Cheese in the Trap,” according to her management agency Tuesday. The actress had previously turned down the offer as there had been conflicting schedules.

“I thought I should not miss the chance to play such an attractive character like Hong Seol. I promise I’ll do the best I can to meet the fans’ expectations,” said Kim, adding “I would like to thank producer Lee Yun-jung who had strong faith in me. She even reorganized the schedule for me.”

Hong Seol, the protagonist, is a diligent college girl who lives a hectic life and yet is a little skeptical. Fans are looking forward to seeing great chemistry between Kim and Park Hae-jin, who had already been cast as the male counterpart. With acrid controversy among fans of the original cartoon, the producer faced rough goings with the casting.

“Cheese in the Trap” is based on a popular Web-based cartoon of the same name, and is set to premiere in October via local cable network tvN. Producer Lee Yun-jeong of MBC’s hit drama “Coffee Prince” and tvN’s “Heart to Heart” will head the production.
