Actor Lee Kwang-soo will appear in a cameo role in Song Joong-ki’s new drama “Descendants of the Sun.”

Lee and Song are known to be close friends, and have been spotted taking overseas trips together along with Jo In-sung after Song was discharged from the Korean Army earlier this year.

In the drama, Lee will appear as an amusement stand operator.

In the drama, Song plays the role of an Army captain opposite Song Hye-kyo, who will play a female volunteer medic serving in a disaster zone.

According to reports, Song has been working on his physique since before he was discharged from the military last month, and is staying in shape for the role.

The drama will be fully produced before being launched in the second half of the year.
