Eight-member K-pop girl group Girl’s Generation, also known as SNSD, ranked at the top of major Korean music charts Wednesday with its new single “Party,” soon after releasing the new track through local online music service sites on Tuesday at 10 p.m.

The group also ranked No. 1 on iTunes charts in seven countries, including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia. The chart results suggest the upbeat pop tune with a cheerful melody and addictive lyrics is being well received across Asia.

SNSD also released its music video filmed on Thailand’s Ko Samui island via YouTube’s SMTOWN Channel.

The group’s new single “Party” will be released off-line Wednesday, followed up by their awaited return to the stage on KBS’ “Music Bank” on Friday. Over the weekend, SNSD will feature their new song on MBC’s “Show! Music Core” and SBS’ “Inkigayo.”
