"If You," one of the two tracks on the latest EP titled "D," debuted at No. 1 on eight major music charts, including Genie, Melon and Mnet. The EP's other track, "Sober," ranked second on those charts, cementing Big Bang's status as a top K-pop group.

"D" is also drawing popularity abroad, sitting at No. 1 on iTunes' singles albums' chart in 16 regions, including Hong Kong, Norway, Peru and Thailand that day. It also rose to No. 4 and No. 22 in the U.S. and Britain.

"If You" has been described as "the saddest song that has ever been released by Big Bang," while "Sober" is a cheerful dance piece well-suited to the summer season.

Since May, Big Bang has been releasing new EPs containing two songs on the first day of every month under the "MADE" project album.

"Loser" and "Bae Bae," both contained in the first EP "M," swept various local music charts for weeks upon their release in May.

"Bang Bang Bang" and "We Like 2 Party," tracks on the second EP "A," were also well-received. (Yonhap)
