Actress Kim Ha-neul confirmed she would star in the movie “The Teacher.”

The movie follows the developments that occur between two female teachers and a student at a boys’ high school.

Kim will play the part of Hyo-joo, the older of the two teachers.

“As soon as I read the scenario, I was strongly drawn (to the film). Until now I have mostly played characters that are recipients of love, but I found it difficult to disentangle myself from the dry and complex mind of Hyo-joo, who is unloved,” Kim Ha-neul said.

The movie will be directed by Kim Tae-yong, who has received critical acclaim at home and abroad.
In 2010, Kim became the youngest Korean director to be invited to Cannes Film Festival with his 2010 short film “Frozen Land.”

He was also invited to the 44th International Film Festival Rotterdam, and won the citizen critics’ award at the 19th Busan International Film Festival.
