K-pop power couple Nichkhun of 2PM and Tiffany of Girls’ Generation confirmed they are no longer together, news outlets reported on Friday.

Local daily Ilgan Sports broke the news that the two have recently broken up, ending their 17-month relationship. The reason given for the split was their busy schedule, said the daily, citing acquaintances of the two.

Immediately after the report, both confirmed the news through their labels. “It’s true that the two have split up,” Tiffany’s label, SM Entertainment, told Yonhap News.

Nichkhun’s JYP Entertainment also said they are no longer together.

The Thai-American Nichkhun, 26, and Korean-American Tiffany, 25, made their relationship public in April 2014. According to reports last year, they first became good friends and deepened their relationship based on their mutual background of growing up in a foreign country and their English fluency. They began dating in January 2014.

Nichkhun is slated to release a new album with 2PM in June and Tiffany is shooting for the end of June or July for her return with Girls’ Generation.
