Park Hae-jin to star in ‘Cheese in the Trap’

South Korean actor Park Hae-jin has landed a role in the upcoming TV drama “Cheese in the Trap,” local media reported Wednesday.

The production company for the drama Eight Works announced Park has been cast as the male protagonist for the Web comic-based drama.

He is set to play Yoo Jung, a handsome all-rounder university student hiding his devious side behind his good looks.

The original eponymous Web comic follows a love triangle between Yoo Jung, his girlfriend Hong Sul and Baek In-ho, a longtime friend and enemy of Yoo Jung.

Eight Works has reportedly been sending continuous casting offers to the actor as he was deemed the best fit for the character of Yoo Jung.

Park said, “I feel pressured from the high expectation people place on me for the role of Yoo Jung. But I’ll do my best so that I won’t regret my choice. ”

Ever since the the dram was announced, after the original Web comic gained widespread popularity, people have been voting for the actors and actresses that best fit the characters. Park was among the actors on the list to get the most votes, according to reports.

Other actors for the new drama have yet to be disclosed.
