A Seoul court may force former members of K-pop group EXO, Luhan and Kris, to come to an agreement with their talent agency SM Entertainment, as both parties have failed to sort out their differences.

Under the "compulsory arbitration" system, the justice department forcibly lays down conditions for a legal agreement -- used as a last resort when parties fail to find grounds for mutual resolution.

If both parties fail to file an objection within the next two weeks, the Seoul Central District Court will enforce compulsory mediation.

Legal representatives for Luhan, Kris and SM Entertainment are said to be "considering" the new action taken by the Seoul court, Monday.

Last year, Chinese singers Kris and Luhan filed lawsuits to terminate their contracts with SM Entertainment in May and November respectively, citing rights violations through artist mismanagement and insufficient monetary compensation.

Kris and Luhan, who were formerly members of Chinese-Korean boy group EXO, said that SM Entertainment unfairly discriminated against Chinese group members in assigning promotional activities and financial support.

SM Entertainment countered that the two singers, having achieved popularity, had selfishly sought to elevate their celebrity status while showing contempt for all contracted parties involved.

SM Entertainment also said the singers lacked sufficient grounds for taking legal action against the management label.

Both Kris and Luhan are currently conducting solo activities in China.
