‘Splendid Politics’ rises to top in viewership ratings

MBC’s period drama “Splendid politics” has kicked off to a promising start, nabbing the first place in it’s time slot for viewership ratings.

According to the ratings research company Nielson Korea on Wednesday, the most recent episode of “Splendid Politics” that aired on Tuesday achieved 11.8 percent ratings, a significant rise from 10.5 percent the drama earned for the previous episode. SBS’ “Heard It Through the Grapevine” and KBS 2TV’s “Blood” recorded 11.7 percent and 4.4 percent, respectively.

“Splendid Politics” features Cha Seung-won as Prince Gwanghae, and Lee Yeon-hee as Princess Jeongmyeong with its plot involving the princess’ revenge as she lives among commoners disguised as a man.

The 50-episode historic drama, which aired its first episode on Monday, broadcasts every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m.
