Actor Lee Jin-wook will star opposite actress Ha Ji-won in the upcoming television remake "The Time I Loved You, 7,000 Days," according to his management agency Tuesday.

K-pop singer Rain had also been consulted for the role last month, which his management label said he was "considering" taking up last month.

The SBS drama production crew also said on April 1 that actor Lee was in talks over the lead role, though "nothing had been confirmed."

"The Time I Love You, 7,000 Days," which will start airing in Korea in June, is based on the popular 2011 Taiwanese drama series "In Time With You," which follows the story of two long-term friends entering their 30s.

Ha, 36, is a successful Korean actress, who was recently snapped in France filming a Korean reality show.

Lee, 33, is not as well-known as Rain, but starred in lead roles in dramas such as "Nine: Nine Time Travels" and "The Three Musketeers."
