GOT7, a multinational K-pop septet that debuted in 2014, recently snapped up trophies for best rookie at two major award ceremonies in China.

The group was given Best Korea Rookie of the Year award at the third YinYue V-Chart Awards on April 11, and The Most Potential Boy Group award at the 15th Top Chinese Music awards on April 13.

Hosted by China’s biggest music website, YinYueTai, the YinYue V-Chart Awards is one of the biggest music awards shows in China.

Top Chinese Music awards, also called Yin Yue Feng Yun Bang, rivals the YinYue V-Chart Awards.

Famous Chinese singers and Korean Wave stars dominated this year’s Chinese awards scene.

GOT7 is signed to JPY Entertainment, together with girl group Miss A, which counts hallyu star Lee Min-ho’s girlfriend Suzy as a member.

The boy band’s members are from Korea, America, Hong Kong, and Thailand, giving the group a mix that appeals to diverse fan base.
