F.T. Island confirms upcoming lead single
A day after K-pop boy band F.T. Island announced its plan to prerelease the track “To The Light,” the quintet confirmed on Tuesday that its upcoming lead single will be a hard rock song called “Pray.”
“Pray,” composed by the group’s guitarist, Choi Jong-hun, is the long-running band’s first experimental piece in the hard rock genre, with its lyrics about the boys‘ deep aspiration to seek the truth.

“Putting aside stereotyped discussions on love and breakups, we wanted to sing about greater love. We hope that the song could give hope to many of those struggling in (a) dark society,“ the band members said in a press release.
Its fifth studio album, ”I will“, is scheduled for release in Korea at midnight on March 23.
Ahead of unveiling the new album, F.T. Island will prerelease ”To The Light,“ the Korean version of the eponymous track from the 14th Japanese album.
Composed and written by the group’s bassist, Lee Jae-jin, the track was hugely popular in Japan, claiming the top spot on the music charts of Japan’s music streaming site DWANGO and the biggest record store HMV.
The pop rock band, which debuted in 2007 in Korea, entered the Japanese market in 2008 with the album “Prologue of F.T. Island.”
The group has enjoyed popularity in Japan, becoming the first foreign male band to top the nation’s Oricon Daily music chart.
