Korean actress Kim Ha-neul’s first Korea-China joint project, “Making Family,” will hit Chinese theaters in October, industry sources revealed Wednesday.

In the movie, Kim plays a career woman who has little interest in getting a husband but wants a family of her own.

Opposite Kim, Hong Kong’s Aarif Rahman plays a man who has no interest in marriage or having a family.

The two, however, are brought together through unexpected events that are set off when Kim’s son, who was conceived with donated sperm, sets out to find his biological father.

According to the movie’s producers, filming was completed late last month, and editing and other follow-up processes are currently under way.

Directed by Jo Jin-mo, “Making Family” is the first Korea-China joint project to be completed since the countries agreed to collaborate in the field of moviemaking during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Korea in July.
