SM, YG sweep Gaon Chart K-pop Awards

Musicians of South Korea’s two big music labels SM and YG Entertainment aced the fourth annual Gaon Chart K-pop Awards held in Seoul on Thursday.

SM Entertainment’s K-pop hit boy band Super Junior grabbed three trophies. They won two Best Album Award and Weibo K-pop Star Award.

SM’s longtime rival YG Entertainment aced the Best Song Award. 2NE1’s “Come Back Home,” Akdong Musician’s “200%” and Taeyang’s “Eye, Nose, Lips” won the Best Song Award.

Although musicians of SM failed to win the Best Song Award, TVXQ’s “TENSE,” EXO’s “Overdose,” Super Junior’s “MAMACITA” and “This is Love” were credited for the Best Album Award.
