Jonghyun, a member of K-pop band SHINee, has swept the South Korean music charts with his new song “Deja-Boo” on Wednesday.

“Deja-Boo” escalated to the top slot on major music charts including Melon, Genie and Bugs, shortly after it was released at midnight on Tuesday.

Jonghyun tweeted his feelings: “SHINee members! This is all thanks to you. It’s really the new beginning now! I’ll do my best! Such pleasing chart results.”

The solo artist has written lyrics to all seven songs in his album “BASE.”

“BASE” includes “Deja-Boo” featuring Zion.T and other tracks produced in collaboration with well-known musicians such as Younha and Wheesung.

The album’s music list ends with a mysterious “+???,” hinting at a bonus track.

“BASE” will go on sale from Jan. 12 at both online and offline stores.
