A new food variety show program directed by Na Young-seok, who is famous for the megahit “2 Days & 1 Night” and “Over Flowers” series, will launch on Friday amid soaring attention from viewers.

The cable television network tvN showcased the program “Three Meals in a Day” on Wednesday, with the main actors and producers Na and Park Hee-yeon in attendance.

In the show, actor Lee Seo-jin and Ok Taecyeon, a member of the K-pop boy band 2PM, prepare their own meals using local ingredients from the countryside. The two men, who seem disinterested in rural life and cooking, have to struggle to feed themselves, and this leads to various comic situations.

In his appearance on the former variety show “Grandpas over Flowers,” Lee said several times that he “hates” cooking while preparing meals for the four senior actors acting as grandpas.

In contrast to Lee’s grumbling about cooking in the new program, Ok will be depicted as a man with a passion for preparing food, tvN officials said.

“He has a totally different character from Lee. He is very passionate, actively participating every time. That contrast between the two will create laugher,” producer Park said.
