Comedian and entertainment show host Kang Ho-dong is to appear on tvN’s newest TV show “Kang Restaurant,” where he will transform into an owner-chef at a simple Western food restaurant.

tVN unveiled its main promotional image and preview of the first episode of “Kang Restaurant” to the public on Wednesday. In the promotional image, he is seen wearing a white chef‘s hat and apron and holding an enormous pork cutlet dish.

Comedian Lee Soo-geun suggested to Kang that it would be hilarious to see Kang, the chef of the restaurant, devour more food than the customers, during one of the episodes of tvN’s reality show “New Journey to the West: Season 4.”

Production members said that watching Kang, a person who did not know how to cook at all before, undergo the difficult journey of becoming an actual chef is something fans should be excited for. They also asked viewers to predict whether Kang and his kitchen staff can make profitable sales running the restaurant.

“Kang Restaurant” takes viewers to the beautiful Jeju Island, where Kang, Lee Soo-geun, Ahn Jae-hyun, Eun Ji-won and Song Min-ho work together to keep the restaurant alive. tVN will air its first episode at 10:50 p.m. on Dec. 5
