Yoon Kyun-sang expressed anticipation in starring in the upcoming periodic series “Rebel Hong Gil-dong”

“I feel a great sense of responsibility to play the lead role for the first time in my acting career,” Yoon said. “Still, I will do my best to fully immerse myself into the role.”

“Rebel Hong Gil-dong” will revolve around a life story of a strongman and outlaw named Hong Gil-dong, played by Yoon, who lived an era of despotism.

Yoon said he will depict the role as a revolutionist.

Yoon earned worldwide popularity with “Doctors,” a medical drama series starring Kim Rae-won and Park Shin-hye.

“Rebel Hong Gil-dong” will be produced by Kim Jin-man, the producer-director behind “Kill Me, Heal Me” and “Scandal: A Shocking and Wrongful Incident.” The period series will be aired through MBC starting in the first half of 2017.
