Korean band CNBLUE’s drummer Kang Min-hyuk said in an interview with local media that he was honored to act alongside fellow stars Hyeri of Girls' Day and actor Ji Sung in an upcoming SBS drama series “Entertainers.”

“It was a fresh experiecne to act with them,” Kang said in a report by Sports Chosun on Thursday. “Their enthusiasm motivates me.”

This came after Hyeri said in an earlier interview that she was learning a lot from the veteran actor Ji Sung.

Kang will play Hyeri’s younger brother in the series, which portrays a guy named Seok-ho (Ji Sung) who is backed into a corner but eventually makes a turnaround by founding a new entertainment agency and managing a rock band, where Jung Geu-rin (Hyeri)’s brother (Kang Min-hyuk) is a vocalist.

Kang added that he could sympathize with the role, as Kang himself is involved in a band.

“The role reminds me of the moment when CNBLUE members practiced and played songs altogether in a band room,” Kang said.

Kang has acted in a handful of TV series and films, after he debuted in the role of Hae-won in an three-episode omnibus flick “Acoustic” in 2010. He gained recognition as an actor after he appeared in “Heartstrings” (2011), “My Husband Got A Family” (2012) and “The Heirs” (2013).

The drama will begin on April 20, after the TV network’s Wednesday-Thursday drama series “Please Come Back, Mister” wraps up on April 14.
